Objects & Community – Making Connections

Stories are a vital part of Scotland’s culture and every community has a different tale to tell. We are supporting this theme along with many other exciting exhibits in our 2023 exhibition.

Explore the history of our community and take a journey through the museum where each exhibit presents a piece of the unique story of our local heritage. From the origins of the landscape to the mysterious masked preacher, plus the impressive original light from the Bass Rock lighthouse.

Objects and Community filming in progress at the Harbour

After obtaining a generous grant from North Berwick Trust, we have purchased an audio visual display unit and commissioned local filmmakers Room 8 Studio to make six short films exploring community connections through a selection of our museum objects. The films can be viewed on our new audio visual unit in the museum alongside the objects themselves and an information panel about the selected artefacts.

The Coastal Communities Museum is run entirely by volunteers and your support by donation is greatly appreciated.
