GO ON A TREASURE HUNT

Did you know that the author Robert Louis Stevenson used to visit North Berwick as a child on holiday? Some say he was inspired by our local landmark Fidra Island to write his famous novel Treasure Island. His father, a famous lighthouse engineer was designing the lighthouse on Fidra around this time.

We have partnered with the official Robert Louis Stevenson website of The Lothians to enable our young visitors to discover landmarks that are easily recognisable as places from Stevenson’s childhood.

There are treasure hunts, puzzles and even a geocache link – why not try and find some local treasure for yourself?
